Audit log & activity

Every meaningful change writes a record saying who, what, when, and against which matter.

The audit trail is the reason several of the other modules can be trusted. It is a queryable part of the product rather than a server log, typed by entity and action so that the question a regulator or a client actually asks can be answered by filtering rather than by reading.

Automatic changes are attributed to the platform rather than to whoever happened to be nearby. The actor column is nullable, and null means the system did it.

What is recorded

  • Entity types across users, matters, clients, staff, documents, invoices, expenses, vendors, bank accounts, payroll, leave, roles, appraisals, learning, compliance, complaints, consultations, retainers and call invites
  • Action types distinguishing creation, update, deletion and status change
  • The actor, the time, and the matters the change relates to

Why, not only what

  • Approval logs on expenses, invoices, time entries and leave
  • Return and rejection reasons kept on the record
  • Scheduled and automatic actions attributed to the platform, not to a nearby human

Reading it

  • A filterable audit screen for internal review and regulatory response
  • A staff activity feed drawn from the same events
