Invoicing
Invoices raised against any engagement, approved internally, and sent looking like the firm's own.
An invoice is assembled from approved time and recorded expenses rather than typed out again, which removes the step where the number on the bill stops matching the work behind it.
Before it goes out it passes an internal approval, and the document a client receives is rendered from the firm's own template (its layout, its logo, its wording) rather than from a generic one with a logo dropped in the corner.
Building the bill
- Line items drawn from approved time entries and recorded expenses
- Taxes applied per line or per invoice, and write-offs recorded explicitly
- Raised against a matter, consultation or retainer
Approval and payment
- An internal approval status distinct from the payment status
- Payment method and date recorded when it settles
- Ageing measured from the due date, so payment terms are respected
Presentation
- A template designer for the firm's own invoice layout and branding
- Delivered to the client portal to view and download
