Messaging
Channels the firm does not have to create, because they follow the structure of the firm.
Channels are provisioned from the structures that already exist: every matter gets one, every department gets one, and the firm gets one. Nobody has to remember to create a channel, and nobody ends up discussing a matter in a group chat that the person who takes it over cannot see.
Membership follows the same rule. Being on a matter puts you in its channel; coming off it takes you out. The conversation inherits the matter's permissions rather than keeping its own list.
Channels
- Created automatically per matter, per department and firm-wide
- Membership derived from the underlying record, so it cannot drift out of step
- Direct conversations between staff, and with clients where the firm allows it
In the thread
- Mentions that notify, reactions, and attachments held with the message
- Realtime delivery over a persistent connection
- Messages readable in the context of the matter they concern
